I've seen some who are faithful to exercise daily, eat lots of wholesome foods such as salads and celery sticks, drink oodles of water and still don't lose weight. Did you know that eating fiber at breakfast is a great way to feel fuller throughout the day? You can eat more fiber by making sure you use whole wheat bread for toast or by choosing a high-fiber cereal like raisin bran. Enhance your cereal by adding some fruit with its skin such as an apple.
Many people find that by pre-packaging their meals it becomes a great way to control portions. Just make sure that once you're done eating the portion that you're done eating.
Learn to recognize when you're feeling sad, stressed, or any other emotional state that has led you to overeating. Then once you recognize that you're in the danger area take a pre-determined new path. Go for a walk, call a friend, or clean the closet. Just do something that takes you to a different emotional, and preferably a physical, place.
Keep track of what you eat and what you want to eat. Don't censor anything just write it down as it occurs. Once you've written enough down take a look and see if you can find your patterns, either good or bad. Then re-enforce your good behavior and notice and stop your bad behavior.
